Network 1: detector and electronics R&D

Research and development in detectors and electronics is a crucial component of high-energy physics research. Continuous innovation is necessary to meet the increasingly demanding performance requirements in particle collision experiments. The Norwegian CERN community has a long-standing and strong tradition in detector development. Today, Norwegian research groups contribute to the development of advanced sensor technologies and readout electronics for LHC detectors in the high-luminosity era, while research and development is ongoing for future collider experiments.

The purpose of the Detector Research and Electronics Development Network is to connect researchers working on the development of detectors and electronics across NorCC institutions and research activities.

Participating institutes: UiO, UiB, HVL, USN and UiA

Activity leaders: Simon Hellesund (UiB) and Jørgen Lien (USN)

Ongoing activities: DRD3, DRD5, DRD7
